If the infections is very severe and hearing loss are indicated we can go to surgery named myringotomy. Myringotomy gives relief to the patients who suffers from severe ear infection and persistent fluid in the middle ear which leads to the hear loss of the patients .Myringotomy procedure involves short and easy methods. Tympanostomy tube is a small ventilation tube and it is inserted into a small opening in the eardrum, which is already created by otolaryngologist. The tube helps in bringing the infectious fluid from the middle ear and keeps it from recurring. The treatment results in the reduction of infectious fluid and the tube falls out after 3-12 months.
Adenoidectomy is another option the doctor can suggest which involves the removing of adenoids (adenoidectomy). Tonsillectomy is another method of surgical treatment, which involves the removing of tonsils (tonsillectomy). Above two procedures are recommended and preferred for children having four years of age or above wh0o have severe ear infection causing hear loss. Tympanoplasty is a plastic operation done to repair the damaged tympanum. Myringoplasty is a surgery done in eardrum by tissue grafts. Stapedectomy is another procedure which involves the replacement of stapes which is a part of ear ossicles.
