Regions of the Ear
Posted by Ear Infections - 07/01/09 at 06:01 pmThe most commonly occurring ear infection is classified as three types. They are classified according to the regions of the ear. They are otitis media – middle ear disorder, otitis interna – inner ear disorder and otitis externa – otitis media – external ear disorder.

Infection in the external ear region can be treated easily and not that contagious. Middle ear infection is not that serious until the Eustachian tube remains unaffected. Inner ear infection is always very serious as it is very difficult to repair the inner tissues or cells, which is not advisable manually as it will disturb the internal equilibrium. Ear always secretes a waxy fluid that cleans the ear tissues by itself. It is utter stupidity that people who use buds are always thrown to many germs which cause infection easily rather than troubling from outside sources.
The Otitis media, the infection of inner ear is actually diagnosed by some common symptoms. They are sore throat, inflammation on the walls of the mouth, or other respiratory problems. It mainly occurs due to the viral infection or some times bacteria also cause the sickness. The otitis media is again classified into two types. They are acute otitis media and acute otitis media with effusion. The difference is the first one has swollen ear and mucus gets trapped in the ear, which is very painful. The second one has mucus trapped much harder making the ear prone to secondary infection easily. Internal ear infection is confined with the brain and its activities while the external ear infection causes inflammation on the ear linings and non-stop itches.
