Ear infections are nothing but inflammations in the middle ear, biologically called as otitis. These infections are more popular in children. There is a tube in the middle ear which actually does the job of draining out the fluid is affected and whenever liquid passes through this it causes pain and the infections become bad and in children this tube is narrow and blocked because of infections. One popular reason for ear infection is food allergy.

The other reason might be because of bacteria or virus accumulated in the ears. When these organisms start accumulating and produce a sticky liquid which in turn reduces the vibrating capability resulting in hearing problems. Some immediate step that can be taken to get rid of the ear infection pain is you can take acetaminophen. Try raising the head of the ear bed or the crib and try draining out the liquid by your self.
Ask your children to drink more liquid because drinking or swallowing liquids help in opening up the tube and draining the liquid out of the ear. You can use vaporizers in the room so that there is moisture in the room and helps to retain the liquidity of the fluids in the ears. Warm and moist compress over the ears would also help a little to stimulate the infection. There is an herb called Echinacea can also fight ear infections.
